Snowfall expected Tuesday night, Wednesday morning
While Delta was largely spared from the snowfall that swept through the Lower Mainland early Tuesday morning, it may not be so lucky tonight (Dec. 18).
Snow is expected to start falling across the Lower Mainland at 7 p.m., with accumulations of 5 to 10 cm expected overnight.
Snow removal operations will be out in force on all highways in the region until the weather system passes, roadways are clear and back to normal.
Environment Canada's Boundary Bay Airport weather station is forecasting snow mixed with rain for Tuesday night, with lows of zero.
Winds from the southeast will blow 30 to 50 km/h near midnight, peaking at 50 to 70 km/h near the water before morning.
The snow is expected to turn to rain by late Wednesday morning.
