Huntington to participate in farmland debate
If port operations and industry expand onto agricultural land in Delta, is that good news for our economy but bad news for sustainability?
Delta South MLA Vicki Huntington will tackle this subject at a lunchtime dialogue focusing on industry and agricultural land in Delta.
Titled "Heads up, broccoli: Industry incoming! Delta's threatened Agricultural Land Reserve" the conversation will also include Joel Wood, senior research economist of the Fraser Institute, and Duncan Wilson, vice-president, corporate social responsibility for Port Metro Vancouver.
Lively presentations will be followed by vigorous dialogue.
Part of the City Conversation lunchtime series, the free event takes place Thursday, July 5 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Vancouver at the SFU Harbour Centre (515 West Hastings St.) Room 1600.
