Heart of Ladner Night market makes triumphant return
The Heart of Ladner night market made a triumphant return to the streets of Ladner Village Saturday (Aug. 18).
After a one-year break, the Delta Hospice Society fundraiser, drew large crowds to the Harbour Plaza complex on Delta Street where they were entertained with music by the Watercoolers and paintings by local artitsts, enticed by a variety of vendors, and the youngsters in the crowd were given the chance to get their faces painted.
Co-organizer Michael Rudd said he was pleased with the turnout given the one year absence of the event.
Last time out, the fundraiser donated about $7,000 to the Delta Hospice Society.
This time around, Rudd said he hopes to at least match that figure.
It may be a few days before Saturday's total is tallied as items in the event's silent auction still need to be included.
