Small Steps event raises big funds
The One Small Step fundraiser Saturday (Sept. 22) at Ladner Harbour Park made a big stride in helping research for those with Prader-Willi Syndrome.
The event—a walk/run/ride—raised around $20,000, well above the goal of $10,000.
PWS is a rare genetic disorder that can cause childhood obesity.
The fundraiser was organized by Ladner mom Susanne Szabo-MacDonald whose 16-month-old daughter Ellie has PWS and was featured in a cover story in the Leader's Sept. 7 edition.
