The Business Improvement Association of Tsawwassen (BIA) will once again delight local families and draw visitors to the community with its annual Outdoor Movie Nights.

For its fifth year, the BIA is bringing together entertainment, local businesses and organizations, and a movie under the stars.

On clear days up to 1,000 people are known to attend the screenings, where from 6:30 p.m. until dusk they can interact with local shop owners and take in displays and demonstrations.

The film shown on July 28 at Diefenbaker Park (5579 1 Ave.) is up to the public (sponsored by Tsawwassen Collision and Randy’s Excel Tire and Auto Service) who vote for their favourite through a "Pick the Flick" contest.

On Aug. 11, Vancity presents a screening of The Lion King at Diefenbaker Park. Come at 5 p.m. for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Village Party featuring local Celtic band Doghouse, highland dancing and juggler Matt Levy.

The Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall event Aug. 20 (at 56 St. and 12 Ave.) will feature Night at the Museum. Before the movie begins, residents can enjoy a block party with live entertainment, including a Ronald McDonald magic show, dance groups and more.

This year, all movie nights will raise money for The Rangers of The Girl Guides of Canada through concession and popcorn sales provided by local service groups.
