If you think there were a lot of Union Jacks flags at the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London in the past few weeks, you ought to have checked out the recentTsawwassen Outdoor Movie night.
Held Aug. 11 at Diefenbaker Park, the event put on by the Business Improvement Association of Tsawassen not only featured the classic Disney animated film The Lion King, but a celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
Tsawwassen's Mavis Lloyd, a Queen Elizabeth lookalike, was the star attraction as she donned a sparkling coronet and was chauffeured to the park in a classic Austin 7 convertible.
Movie-goers were also treated to a serving of British treats—candies and baked potatoes—to set the party's tone.
The next Tsawwassen Outdoor Movie Night is set for Aug. 25 at the Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall when the film Night at the Museum will be shown.
