Ladner 7-year-old picked for prestigious piano bursary
Seven-year-old Joshua Tromans is continuing to make sweet music.
The Ladner youngster was recently awarded the inaugural, prestigious Emily Longworth Piano Bursary given to only one piano student at the VSO School of Music.
The scholarship will cover all of Tromans' tuition fees for the 2012-13 school year.
But it's not just those judging the bursary award that have taken notice of the budding musician.
He's had many positive and encouraging comments from concert pianists this past year, including internationally acclaimed Canadian pianist Ian Parker who, at the Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival, said Tromans is "brilliant," and "the most solid piano player I have seen."
In addition to playing the piano Tromans, who was featured in the South Delta Leader's 30 Under 30 edition in 2011, is studying the violin.
