Preliminary results: Findlay elected

Kerry-Lynne Findlay has succeeded handily in keeping Delta-Richmond East Tory blue.

Elections Canada is reporting that with 200 of 221 polls counted, Findlay has 23,062 votes (54.3 per cent).

NDP candidate Nic Slater trails in second with 9,857 votes (23.2 per cent).

Liberal Alan Beesley follows with 7,184 votes, Green candidate Duane Laird with 2,042 votes, Independent John Shavluk at 191 votes, and Jeff Monds with 131 votes.

Voter turnout for Delta-Richmond East so far is tallied at 42,467 of 79,831 registered voters.
