DPD remind homeowners to be cautious
Delta Police are reminding home owners to exercise caution when answering the door to people unfamiliar to them.
The move is in response to an incident in Ladner Friday morning (Oct. 21) when a resident reported a pair of men tried to kick in her front door after ringing the doorbell twice.
The resident immediately called 911 and the pair left the home's driveway in a small, red car.
Delta Police spokesman Const. Ciaran Feenan said the pair were believed to be asking for medical assistance, but a search of the neighbourhood and local medical facilities failed to turn up any clues.
Feenan added the situation seems to be suspicious in nature and issued the advisory for homeowners to be wary.
As of midday Friday, no other similar events had been reported.
