Input sought for Deltaport expansion
Port Metro Vancouver is seeking input from the public on its proposed Deltaport terminal expansion and Road and Rail Improvement Project.
The second of two open houses is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Delta Town & Country Inn (6005 Highway 17).
Those unable to attend the open house can complete an online feedback form available at www.portmetrovancouver.com.
In February 2011, Port Metro Vancouver released details of its Container Capacity Improvement Program—a long-term strategy to increase container capacity at existing container facilities and add new capacity at Deltaport with the proposed Terminal 2 facility.
Preliminary geotechnical and seismic work started in April 2011, with an extensive offshore drilling program around Roberts Bank, and a number of other field studies are scheduled to take place during the next 12 months. This work will provide data to help determine siting options for the proposed Terminal 2. Information will be posted at it becomes available.
