Crimebeat: Hundreds of dollars in damage done at Tsawwassen dollar store

The following are calls the Delta Police Department responded to over the past week.

Tsawwassen:

Feb. 15, 10 a.m., 1500 Block 56th St.: Sometime overnight unknown suspect smashed the front upper louvered window of the beauty salon. Approximately $20 in change taken.

Feb. 18, 8:45 p.m., 1300 Block 56th St.: The dollar store reported one of the windows had been smashed by someone throwing a metal garbage can through the window. Damage to the window is $500. No video surveillance or witnesses.

Feb. 18, 9:13 p.m., 1500 Block 56th St.: Police received a report from a personal care business that someone had thrown a rock through the store front window causing $1,000 in damage. Police seized a smooth rock for fingerprinting.

Ladner:

Feb. 13, 4:05 p.m., 7100 Block Progress Way: Complainant reported his company vehicle, a white 1993 Ford E350 van, was stolen from the parking area behind the business. Information on the van, valued at $3,000, was added to Canadian Police Information Centre.

Feb. 13, 4:41 p.m., 5000 Block Crescent Pl.: Complainant reported someone had redeemed Airmiles from his account without his authorization. When the complainant’s wallet was stolen he had cancelled all credit and bank cards, but had not reported the theft to police. The complainant was able to provide the police with information regarding a possible suspect.

Feb. 14, 4:09 p.m., 6000 Block 64th St.: Unknown persons entered the locked vehicle of the complainant while it was parked at the dike. The passenger side door frame was bent and dented and the complainant’s Gucci wallet and personal identification were stolen.

Feb. 16, 10:01 a.m., 1100 Block Fairway Views Wynd: Complainant reported his truck containing clothing and kitchen items was stolen while parked at this location.  Vehicle later recovered with a damaged ignition by Surrey RCMP.

Feb. 16, 10:22 a.m., 4600 Block Savoy St.: Complainant contacted police to report his 9.9HP Mercury outboard motor was stolen from the rear of his boat sometime in the last few weeks. The complainant had received a call from the Vancouver Police Department indicating his motor had been recovered, but would not release any information until the motor had been reported stolen to Delta Police.
