Ladner Trunk Rd. is expected to remain closed to traffic until 8 p.m. as Delta Police investigate the scene of a two-car collision that claimed the life of a 23-year-old Ladner man this morning (June 21).

According to Delta Police, it is believed the vehicle traveling westbound in the 9300 block of Ladner Trunk Rd. crossed the centre line into the path of the eastbound vehicle and was struck head on.

The occupant of the westbound vehicle suffered critical, life-threatening injuries at the scene and was transported by an air ambulance to Royal Columbian Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle was not injured.

Next of kin for the deceased has not been notified and police are not releasing the names of the victims at this time.

Delta Police have closed Ladner Trunk Rd. westbound from the Hwy. 99 overpass and eastbound from Hornby St.

Police are suggesting ferry traffic proceed to Hwy. 99.

Ladner Trunk Rd. is not expected to re-open until approximately 8 p.m. as investigators continue to work at the scene.
