Dump truck crash closes Hwy. 17 southbound
Highway 17 is closed southbound after a dump truck lost control and crashed around noon Monday just south of Delta municipal hall.
RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Peter Thiessen said the single vehicle accident occurred after a truck and trailer loaded with a commodity, possibly gravel, hit multiple barriers on the highway. The truck's load was strewn all over the road.
Traffic diverted from Highway 17 is snarled along Arthur Drive through Ladner.
Deas Island Highway Patrol are investigating along with Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement.
There are no reported injuries.
