Bomb threat closes Deltaport for several hours
A bomb threat shut down Deltaport for several hours Thursday afternoon (Aug. 2).
According to Delta Police, Terminal Systems Inc., which operates the cargo container facility at the port, received an anonymous phone call to its corporate offices in Downtown Vancouver alleging there was a bomb at one of its ports.
The call forced the shut down of TSI and Westshore Terminals which is located adjacent to the cargo facility at Roberts Bank.
A roadblock on the Deltaport causeway lined up traffic for about 1 km as workers heading to their afternoon shift waited for the all clear sign to proceed. That came around 5 p.m. as traffic was allowed into the port.
