Sexual assualt charges dropped against Delta teacher
Crown counsel has elected to stay charges against a Delta teacher after it was determined there would be no substantial likelihood of conviction.
Robin Wait, a Delta Secondary school teacher, was charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual interference of a person under 16 last November. Wait was suspended without pay by the Delta school district following his arrest.
Although charges have been dropped, Delta school district spokeswoman Deneka Michaud said an internal investigation will now begin into the allegations, and that Wait would not be returning to the school until that is complete. Michaud could not say how long that would take.
