Winter storm causes power outages in Ladner
The whacky winter weather has knocked out power in the heart of Ladner Village, causing some store owners to close up shop and intersection lights to function as a four-way stop.
According to BC Hydro, the snow storm affecting the Lower Mainland knocked out power to Ladner in the 5,000-block of 47th Avenue at around 4 p.m. affecting at least 11 homes and businesses.
Power is expected to be restored by 8 p.m.
A power outage near Westham Island, north of 33A Avenue, west of 41B street, and southeast of River Road affected 40 homes this morning, but BC Hydro restored power early in the afternoon.
According to social media websites, the intersection lights are out at Arthur Drive and Ladner Trunk Road, resulting in a four-way stop protocol.
