LETTER: Bravo for heritage preservation
I would like to congratulate the mayor and council for their decision to move the Harris barn onto the property with Kirkland House.
Kirkland house is and was a farm house and now it will be again.
There was already a granary on the lot and now there will be a barn. All it needs is a couple of silos and a milk house to complete the setting.
I hope those who want to save other heritage buildings don't get the idea that the Kirkland House property can be a dumping ground for any old building they want to save.
If it does not contribute to creating a farm yard, it would ruin the setting. Richmond has the London Farm and now we will have the Kirkland farm yard.
Ken Atkey,
Delta
