Sport Showdown in Ladner raises funds for gymnastics society
Teams from across the community pushed, leaped and tumbled to raise just over $6,000 for the Delta Gymnastics Society Sunday (Feb. 19) during the second annual Sport Showdown.
Using the society's new, much larger facility at the Delta Sport Development Centre in Ladner, the event had a total of 72 participants who pledged funds to tackle a series of physical challenges.
The team made up of Delta firefighters ended up being named this year's overall winner.
Funds from the event will be used to help purchase equipment.
