Novice Delta Islanders strike lacrosse gold
This past weekend the Delta Islanders Novice A1 team worked hard to mine some gold in New Westminster’s annual Bellie Bowl Tournament.
The Islanders, made up from a group of nine and 10-year-olds, posted a record of three wins and a single loss in the tournament.
Wins came over Burnaby and New Westminster—the only loss was to the Coquitlam Adanacs who they faced in the final.
After a solid, well-played game the Islanders emerged victorious with a 7-4 result.
"We are really proud of the hard work these kids are putting into the game. They are achieving a strong and consistent level of play and we are very proud of what we have achieved to this point," said coach Doug Morison. "They have really proven themselves as a team, making smart plays, lots of great passes and are really having a good time."
