Islanders drop first game in OT
It took overtime for the New Westminster Salmonbellies to secure a win in game one of the B.C. Jr. A lacrosse semifinals, beating the Delta Islanders 14-13 Saturday (July 21) night at Ladner Arena.
The hometown Islanders looked to have the edge in the extra period as Logan Schuss netted his seventh goal of the game after just 24 seconds.
Schuss also notched three assists for a 10-point night.
But the Salmonbellies came back as Tom Newton and Regan Harding provided the goals to wrap up the first of the best of five.
The two sides get back on the floor tonight (July 23) at Queens Park Arena in New Westminster.
The next home game is Wednesday at Ladner Arena.
Game time is 8 p.m.
