This past weekend the Ladner Celtic U11 boys soccer team won  the Bainbridge Island Challenge Cup in Washington State.

The team wrapped up the title and trophy with a 7-1 victory over the North Kitsap Havoc on Aug. 26

The theme of the Tournament for the Celtic was ball possession, and they displayed plenty of it during their four games, said head coach Jack Torok.

From the beginning of game one, the Ladner side was relentless in limiting scoring opportunities for their opposition.

The Celtic finished unbeaten in four matches, scoring 42 goals and conceding just four against, stiff competition from select teams from across the Pacific Northwest.

“There was a genuine desire from the boys to play hard, stay focused, maintain a solid passing game and come home with the championship trophy," Torok said. "They were really resolute in their approach at this tournament.”

The Celtic have become a well-travelled team in the past year playing in tournaments in Portland Oregon, Seattle, Las Vegas Nevada and now Bainbridge Island.

Players on the U11Celtic are: Evan Paterson, Josh Bermel, Zac Sherwin, Aman Hundal, Braedy Euerby, Samuel Wilkinson, Quinn Torok, Ben Kraemer, Jack Chadd, Nic Lanchester, Kian Mackie, Spencer Yesowick, Matt Willford and Ravail Nijjar.
