Ice Hawks get the drop on Outlaws

The Delta Ice Hawks gave the PIJHL's re-branded team a rough introduction to Junior B hockey at Ladner Arena Tuesday night (Sept. 4), beating the Mission City Outlaws 8-3 in pre-season play.

The win gives the Ice Hawks, last season's league champions, a perfect three wins in three exhibition games.

One of those victories came against the Outlaws—formerly the Ice Breakers—Aug. 23 at Mission Leisure Centre where Delta ended up doubling their hosts 6-3.

Delta also beat Port Moody Panthers 9-1 on Aug. 26 at Port Moody Arena.

The Ice Hawks are in exhibition action again Thursday night when they take on Port Moody in Ladner. Game time is 8 p.m.

That's followed by the first game of the regular season—a home opener next Tuesday (Sept. 11) when they lace up the skates against the North Delta Devils. The puck drops on that game at 7:30 p.m.
