The South Delta Atom A2 team have a lot to be thankful for this past holiday weekend.

They came home from the Atom Rep Seattle Ice Breaker tournament in Lynnwood, Wash. with five-straight wins under their belt to win the tournament. The team faced some tough competition from Seattle, North Shore, Vancouver, West Vancouver and Surrey but ended the weekend 5-0, taking home top honours after a hard fought battle in the final.

The Storm had committed themselves to consistent play throughout the tournament. With 5-2 and 8-2 victories against the Seattle Admirals and North Shore Winterhawks, and then an 8-3 win over the Vancouver Thunderbirds, the Storm set themselves up for a hard fought 2-1 victory against West Van in the semi-finals. Battling hard until the final buzzer sounded, the Storm skated to a nail biting 6-5 victory over their Surrey rivals in the gold medal game, avenging two early season exhibition defeats.

"The boys had a great time," says head coach Mark Bermel. "They really wanted the wins and proved it by stepping up their level of play. We are really proud of how well they played as a team, they took on some tough competition and worked hard for their wins, and it really paid off."
